St. Bede Religious Education
Religious Education Mission Statement
"The St. Bede Religious Education Program, in partnership with parents, continues the mission of Jesus Christ through the faith formation of all children in the areas of education, worship, community and service."
"Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, because the KIngdom of God belongs to such as these. I assure you that whoever does not receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it." Mark 10:13-16
St. Bede's Religious Education Program strives to promote Catholic teachings for students that attend non-Parochial schools. The classes support pre-kindergarten through eighth grade religious training and high school confirmation training.
Classes for students in grades pre-kindergarten through sixth grade are held on the first three Sundays of each month from 9:30AM till 10:50AM, immediately followed by attendance at the 11:00AM Mass. Students in grades seventh and eighth are held on the second and third Sundays of each month. Beside religious classes students are also responsible for monthly service projects as part of the required training for the Sacrament of Confirmation.
Wednesday night classes are held from 6:30PM to 8:00PM for first through eighth graders along with special classes for high school students who have not yet received the Sacrament of Confirmation.
The Religious Education Program is monitored and supported by an Advisory Board. The board's purpose is to review and change the curriculum as needed, to help establish and monitor a working budget, to establish a tuition to help offset the costs, to work closely with the Religious Education Coordinator, to establish and maintain by-laws, and to overall monitor the success of the program, to name just a few of the board's responsibilities.
